Taiwan is located at the meeting place of East and Southeast Asia and positioned at a central point along the East Asian-Australasian Flyway. In view of this, the CWBF has a strong record of pushing for international cooperation and coordinating with both local and international partners in a number of areas:

-Helping to establish and monitor Taiwan’s Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs)

-Cooperating with the UK's Royal Society for the Protection of Birds to reduce seabird bycatch in Taiwan’s longline fishing fleet

-Representing its 21 partner organizations at international meetings, conferences and events
